Along the Maple Trail-learning from those who live and breathe maple.
Thanks to Gagne Maple in Highgate for a season update and a look ahead, from the sugarhouse to maple candy. Also visited @uvmvermont Proctor Center where valuable research is underway. #vtmaple

From the sugaring archives. Buc-Wheats commercial, 1971. All the participants were my neighbors. The ad was produced at the Carpenter Farm next to us. I remember when the ad crew came. I was six. A lot of work for :30 seconds #vtmapleyoutu.be/UeDlQeowh14?si=Lbs8… via

No chance the sap will run today. -4 at sunrise. The outlook looks more promising for sugaring as we could get above 30 degrees midweek on the hill. Good morning #Vt. fairbanksmuseum.org/eye-on-t…#sunrise#vtmaple
Ready by Town Meeting Day. Putting out a few taps on the hill. It wants to run. The outlook has a hint of a possible sap run this week in #VT. One thing is clear, the snow is deep on March 1. fairbanksmuseum.org/eye-on-t…#vtmaple
Marching for maple. 🍁 Despite the sugar snow & rain, there was a great turnout for the annual maple festival parade in St. Albans including @GovPhilScott Thank you for the warm welcome & supporting our sugar makers. #vtmaple#parade
The sap is flowing. At Mud City in Morristown the Patnoe Family is busy turning the sweet sap into sweet #Vt maple. Those cold nights and warm days are working. Thanks for the visit and that shot of hot maple 🍁 right off the pan. #vtmaple
