Spent much of two days setting up my PC to dual-boot Windows and Linux. Now have Windows also in a VirtualBox VM. Lots of AI help getting drive mappings & things right. Unsupported Windows 21H2 will no longer need internet access. Still need to add more apps to Linux.

3年くらい前かな、windows98でしか動かないゲームをやりたくて色々試行錯誤してたら、そのゲームSteamに移植されてたのを見つけて、結局かってしまったよ。

一条命令，一个完整开发环境。
新同事入职第一天，环境就配好了。你没听错，不用半天，不用两小时，几分钟的事。
写个 Vagrantfile 声明你要啥系统、啥内存、装啥软件，剩下交给它自己跑。
支持 VirtualBox、VMware、Hyper-V、AWS 一堆 provider，本地跑完直接打包扔云上跑。
插件生态成熟，Docker provisioner、Ansible provisioner 都有，社区方案基本现成。
痛点大家都有：本地跑得好好的，上测试就崩；新人入职配环境配两天；换个电脑一切从头来。Vagrant 把这事儿打包了，配置就是代码，谁拉都一样。
来个例子，写个 Ubuntu 的 Vagrantfile：

HashiCorp 这套东西，Packer、Terraform、Vagrant 一脉相承，基础设施即代码。Vagrant 算是入门款，先把开发环境这一步走稳了，后面上生产环境的自动化就顺多了。
环境配置这事，别再人肉传话了，写进 Vagrantfile，谁来拉都一样。

You should be able to launch and test under Linux if you use VirtualBox, VMWare or Hyper-V under Windows.
They won't be perfect representations of real performance, but they can be good enough for testing with VT-X enabled in BIOS.
That's what I use anyway.

Building a home lab using VirtualBox and running virtual machines like Kali Linux and Ubuntu for safe practice. It was very stressful for me 😅 but it taught me how to troubleshoot and be patient when things don’t work.
