Microsoft just dropped the "we're modernizing your partner benefits" email: goodbye per-user monthly Azure credits in Visual Studio Enterprise, hello Visual Studio Enterprise Lite™ (because nothing says "lite" like stripping out the good stuff). They swear it's not a downgrade just a "realignment of value" with "additional Azure bulk credits as an offset." Translation: beg your org admin for scraps from the company pile instead of having your own dev sandbox. Fraud prevention and program integrity, you see. Can't have devs actually experimenting without corporate oversight. Remember when Steve Ballmer screamed "developers, developers, developers!" like his life depended on it? Yeah, those were the days Microsoft begged us to build on their stuff with free tools, generous credits, and zero guilt. Now Satya's version is "developers... but only if you consume paid Azure like good little revenue units." Feels like the love affair ended. We're not wooed anymore; we're monetized. Thanks for the Lite™ upgrade, Microsoft. Really feeling empowered in Glasgow this January. ❤️ #MicrosoftPartnerProgram #VisualStudioLite #AzureCreditsGone #DevelopersDevelopersDevelopersButPayUp #BallmerWhereYouAt
