Selon le joueur, le chef de l’État congolais, présenté comme un ami du président du PSG, s’était rendu dans le vestiaire pour féliciter l’équipe. Au cours de l’échange, il aurait lancé avec humour aux joueurs portugais : « Vous allez perdre contre la RDC, mais vous allez gagner la Coupe du monde. »
