This is the 2020 vintage of Catena Zapata's Malbec from Argentina, a wine with aromas of black plum, blueberry, dried rose petals, violet, chocolate, truffle, and cigar box. The wine has a full-bodied, rich flavor, yet it never feels heavy. The tannins are tight, like fine knitting, and the finish is long. With four goddess figures, it pays homage to the history of the Malbec grape variety in France and its rise in Argentina. Wine Spectator has also given this winery an exceptionally high rating: "The best wines of Argentina mostly come from Catena Zapata." Robert Parker's World’s Greatest Wine Estates book is the only one that includes a South American winery, Catena Zapata. This Malbec was praised in the 22nd episode of Drops of God, where it was referred to as the "Apostle of Argentina."
