Kool-Aid McKinstry Steps Up as a New Voice for the Saints! As the New Orleans Saints continue building toward the 2026 season, cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry is embracing a larger role both on and off the field. Entering his third year in the NFL, McKinstry recently made it clear that leadership is something he is ready to take on. Drawing from his experience playing under legendary college coach Nick Saban, McKinstry explained that he learned valuable lessons about accountability, communication, and setting the standard for teammates. He described himself as both a vocal leader and someone who leads by example, while also emphasizing the importance of building team chemistry by bringing players together outside of football. His willingness to step into that role comes at a critical time for New Orleans. The Saints have experienced significant changes in their locker room leadership structure, with longtime defensive captain Demario Davis departing in free agency and Alontae Taylor no longer with the team. At the same time, uncertainty continues to surround the futures of veteran leaders Alvin Kamara and Cam Jordan. Losing established voices who have helped shape the culture of the organization creates a major challenge, especially for a team looking to take the next step under head coach Kellen Moore. What makes McKinstry’s comments so encouraging is that he isn’t waiting for someone else to fill the leadership void. Rather than avoiding the responsibility, he is openly welcoming it. The Saints have repeatedly stressed that replacing veteran leadership will require a collective effort, and McKinstry appears determined to be part of that solution. While many fans expected older veterans to emerge as the next leaders, the young cornerback is showing the confidence, maturity, and commitment that could help unite the locker room and strengthen the foundation of the team moving forward. Kellen Moore Admits One of His Biggest Mistakes Involving DeVaughn Vele! Kellen Moore’s first season as head coach of the New Orleans Saints had its share of challenges, but the team’s strong finish created plenty of excitement heading into 2026. After a difficult start, the Saints closed the year with a 5-4 stretch that helped build confidence around the direction of the franchise. While many point to Tyler Shough’s emergence at quarterback as the turning point, Moore recently revealed that one of his biggest regrets from last season had nothing to do with the quarterback position. Instead, he believes wide receiver DeVaughn Vele should have been more involved in the offense much earlier. Moore admitted that, looking back, he wishes he had found ways to get Vele into a larger role sooner, especially considering the impact the receiver eventually made late in the year. The lack of opportunities for Vele during the first half of the season was surprising to many Saints fans. After the organization invested valuable assets to acquire him, expectations were higher than the production he initially received. Vele finished the season with 25 receptions for 293 yards and two touchdowns across 13 games, but those numbers fail to tell the full story. Nineteen of those catches, along with 239 receiving yards and a touchdown, came during the final four games of the season. More importantly, Vele consistently delivered in key situations, making clutch receptions on third down and establishing himself as a dependable target when the offense needed a play. His chemistry with Tyler Shough became increasingly evident as the season progressed, giving the Saints another weapon in the passing attack. Looking ahead to 2026, Vele appears poised for a much larger role within the offense. Even with first-round rookie Jordyn Tyson joining a talented receiver room that already features Chris Olave, Vele has the skill set to carve out significant opportunities. His size, physicality, and reliability make him a valuable complement to the Saints’ other playmakers. For that to happen, however, Moore will need to avoid repeating a mistake from last season, when the offense often focused heavily on only a couple of receiving options. If New Orleans can spread the ball around more effectively and continue building the trust between Shough and Vele, the receiver could be on track for the best season of his career, potentially establishing himself as one of the offense’s most important contributors behind Olave and Tyson. Kellen Moore’s Comments on Cam Jordan Have Saints Fans Talking ⚜️👀 New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore addressed questions about the status of veteran defensive end Cam Jordan, and while he didn’t reveal many details, his comments offered some insight into the situation. Moore emphasized that Jordan is handling things on a personal level and suggested that the door remains open for a return. He also made it clear that the Saints have already made an offer and are waiting for Jordan to make his decision. Moore’s remarks have fueled speculation that the situation may involve more than just contract negotiations. Timing, health, and personal considerations could all be factors as both sides continue discussions. With training camp still ahead, there appears to be no urgency from either side to force a decision right now. For now, the Saints seem willing to be patient, and Jordan appears to have time to evaluate his options. While nothing is guaranteed, Moore’s comments suggest that both the organization and Jordan remain open to finding common ground. Justin Reid Sends Clear Message: Saints Are Ready to Compete in 2026! The New Orleans Saints entered the Kellen Moore era focused on rebuilding the foundation of the franchise, but veteran safety Justin Reid believes the team has already taken that important first step. Speaking about the upcoming 2026 season, Reid emphasized that the foundation has been established and that the focus now shifts toward producing results on the field. His comments reflect a growing confidence inside the locker room that the Saints are no longer simply building for the future—they are preparing to compete right now. After an encouraging finish to last season and an aggressive offseason filled with key additions, expectations throughout the organization continue to rise. Reid's outlook mirrors what many Saints fans have been feeling over the past several months. While most expected New Orleans to be in the early stages of a multi-year rebuild, the progress made under Moore has accelerated the timeline. The roster features a blend of experienced veterans and emerging young talent, creating optimism that the team can challenge for a playoff spot sooner than anticipated. Reid even suggested that making the postseason alone should not be the ultimate goal, signaling that the Saints believe they have the potential to make meaningful noise once they get there. Despite the excitement, Reid also stressed the importance of staying grounded. He reminded everyone that championships are not won during the offseason and that every opponent in the NFL presents a challenge. That mindset could prove critical as the Saints enter a season filled with heightened expectations. The roster appears stronger, the culture continues to develop, and the confidence inside the building is growing. If the team can translate offseason momentum into regular-season success, Reid's belief that the Saints' championship window is opening may not be far from reality. #WhoDatNation The 2026 Roster may be the most talented team in Saints history. @SaintsHC is a winner! Coach envisions a run dominant offense with play action that will make for explosive deep passes to score early and often. The WR room has speed and depth. The TE talent is deeper than any other time in Saints history. TE’s that are run blockers that can also catch. He also envisions a defensive attack that can stop the run, hurry QBs and make turnovers.
