One views the footage with that peculiar blend of weary amusement and cold disdain reserved for spectacles of imported insolence.
These two gaudy specimens in their purple livery—turning their body cameras off with all the furtive glee of schoolboys hiding contraband, then puffing themselves up to threaten an Englishman with violence while boasting of police collusion—embody everything that has gone rotten in the management of our streets.
Such conduct is not mere bad manners. It is common assault by threat, an offence under the Public Order Act 1986, and a flagrant breach of any vestige of public trust their contractor’s uniform might once have commanded.
The evidence sits in their own recorded words and actions: the deliberate disabling of recording equipment, the explicit invitation to “call a policeman and he will f*ck you up,” the swaggering suggestion of an alleyway reckoning. No civilised jurisdiction treats this as protected speech or legitimate enforcement. It is thuggery, plain and simple.
Maybe one might want to investigate, eh
@metpoliceuk?
A nation that cannot—or will not—remove foreign nationals who behave in this fashion has surrendered the most elementary duty of sovereignty: the maintenance of ordered liberty on its own soil.
English law has long recognised that guests who abuse the hospitality of the realm forfeit any claim to remain.
The machinery for involuntary removal exists; what has been lacking is the resolve to employ it without apology or delay. These weasels, and the thousands like them whose presence corrodes the social fabric, are precisely the sort of case that tests whether a country still possesses the will to defend its own character.
One would have relished standing shoulder to shoulder with the filmer. The outcome would have been rather different from the one these cowards anticipated.
Yours in profound contempt,
A Gentleman from the Old School
