In the 1930s, artist Paul Reed experimented with small-scale, three-dimensional works in different media and materials. He returned to sculpture in the late 1960s, specifically to engage the aesthetic possibilities of welded steel. Given the architectural structures and color dynamics of the shaped canvases in "Paul Reed: A Retrospective," Reed’s sculptures explore a wide array of interests that have characterized modern sculpture, including those related to new materials and techniques; formal elements of color; convexity and concavity; geometry, modularity, and repetitive rhythms. See beyond the traditional canvas. Explore the sculptural and material range of Paul Reed’s career in "Paul Reed: A Retrospective"! 🎨 Plan your visit at okcmoa.com/paulreed. #WorkOfTheWeek #OKCMOA
