Great question lol, when I first started doing all this 6 years ago everything I did was for free, and it was more in the side hobby but I also didn’t have a following and had no clue what I was doing lol Over the last couple years it’s shifted where I have sponsors for the podcasts, I get paid for writing for Zone Coverage and some of the appearances I do I get compensated for, so now my day job is more of a part time day job and I do media/hoops coverage full time But yeah I’m considered an independent journalist, and I work for ZoneCoverage, HittingTheHardwood and GopherHole as a contractor, technically lol

😂 I just kind of one day decided to do it, it sounds really simple but that’s kinda it. After I decided to do it, it’s just about starting, make content on tik-tok, start a podcast, write for a blog, write on Twitter, whatever interests you. For me, it was getting a chance to host a football podcast, did that for a year, then spun that into a opportunity to write for ZoneCoverage, did that for a year, never missed a deadline, then got the opportunity to be credentialed for the Lynx, then the Wolves. Since this is my side job, I do it because I just love hoops, so a lot of the work I do for the passion and not to pay my mortgage 😂 But the best I advice I’ve ever got, and it’s come from multiple different people is just to start doing it.
