Ps. 24: 17 and 19; 1
.
Réspice in me et miserére mei, Dómine: quóniam únicus et pauper sum ego: vide humilitátem meam et labórem meum: et dimítte ómnia peccáta mea, Deus meus.
.
Turn Thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am alone and in need: look upon my abjection and my labour, and forgive me all my sin, O my God.
.
.
Unto Thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul: my God, in Thee do I trust, O let me not be confounded.

The Collect of the Third Sunday After Pentecost:
.
.
O God, the protector of all them that trust in Thee, without Whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy; increase and multiply upon us Thy mercy, that Thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal. Through Jesus Christ Thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.

The Collect of St. Basil the Great, Bishop, Confessor, Doctor.
.
.
We beseech Thee, O Lord, graciously to hear the prayers which we offer unto Thee on this festival of Thy holy Confessor and Bishop, Saint Basil: that like as he was found worthy to do Thee faithful service; so by the succour of his merits we may be delivered from the bonds of the sins which we have committed. Through Jesus Christ Thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.

Collect of the Octave of Sacred Heart.
.
.
O God, Who hast suffered the Heart of Thy Son to be wounded by our sins, and in that very Heart hast bestowed on us the abundant riches of Thy love: grant that the devout homage of our hearts, which we render unto him, may of Thy mercy be deemed a recompense acceptable in thy sight. Through the same Jesus Christ Thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.

The Epistle of the Third Sunday After Pentecost.
1 Pet 5:6-11
.
Caríssimi: Humiliámini sub poténti manu Dei, ut vos exáltet in témpore visitatiónis: omnem sollicitúdinem vestram proiiciéntes in eum, quóniam ipsi cura est de vobis. Sóbrii estote et vigiláte: quia adversárius vester diábolus tamquam leo rúgiens circuit, quærens, quem dévoret: cui resístite fortes in fide: sciéntes eándem passiónem ei, quæ in mundo est, vestræ fraternitáti fíeri. Deus autem omnis grátiæ, qui vocávit nos in ætérnam suam glóriam in Christo Iesu, módicum passos ipse perfíciet, confirmábit solidabítque. Ipsi glória et impérium in saecula sæculórum. Amen.
.
Beloved: Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in the time of visitation; cast all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. Be sober, be watchful! For your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goes about seeking someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same suffering befalls your brethren all over the world. But the God of all grace, Who has called us unto His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself, after we have suffered a little while, perfect, strengthen and establish us. To Him is the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

.
.
V. When I called upon the Lord, He hath heard my voice from them that draw nigh unto me
.
Ps. 7: 12
.
.
Alleluia, alleluia. V. God is a righteous Judge, strong, and patient; and shall He be provoked every day? Alleluia.

The Gospel of the Third Sunday After Pentecost.
.
Luke 15:1-10.
.
.
At that time, the publicans and sinners were drawing near to Him to listen to Him. And the Pharisees and the Scribes murmured, saying, This man welcomes sinners and eats with them. But He spoke to them this parable, saying, What man of you having a hundred sheep, and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it upon his shoulders rejoicing. And on coming home he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost.’ I say to you that, even so, there will be joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, more then over ninety-nine just who have no need of repentance. Or what woman, having ten drachmas, if she loses one drachma, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma that I had lost.’ Even so, I say to you, there will be joy among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

Offertory of the Third Sunday After Pentecost.
Ps. 9: 11-12 and 13
.
.
All they that know Thy Name, O Lord, will put their trust in Thee; for Thou hast not forsaken them that seek Thee: O praise ye the Lord Which dwelleth in Sion: for He forgetteth not the complaint of the poor.

Preface of the Sacred Heart.
.
.
It is very meet, right, and our bounden duty, that we should at all times, and in all places give thanks unto Thee, O Lord holy Father almighty, everlasting God. Who hast willed that Thine only-begotten Son, hanging upon the cross, should be transfixed by the lance of a soldier, so that the opened Heart, treasure-place of divine bounty, might flood us with the torrents of compassion and grace, and that That which never ceased to burn with love for us, should be repose for the devout and to the penitent should open the shelter of salvation. And therefore with the Angels and Archangels, with the Dominations and the Powers, with all the company of the heavenly throng, we laud and magnify Thy glorious Name, evermore praising Thee, and saying:
