Some nights remind me why gathering matters.
Reservation 5 of At The Table was one of those nights. Thank you to Nick, Kimberly, Kristina, Carleen, and Renee for bringing your honesty, your laughter, and your stories, you made the room what it was.
What showed up at the table was powerful:
A dad who began every connection with, “Are you guys good?” a simple ritual that built a legacy of presence.
The reality of bodies that don’t always cooperate, and the need for all of us, including doctors and workplaces, to pay attention.
The grief of losing parents, including to Alzheimer’s and dementia.
The invisible labor of leading while carrying family, work, and community.
Gratitude as a discipline that resets us.
Hope and grief, sitting side by side.
One voice carried the words of
@IL_Wesleyan past president Minor Myers Jr.: “Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.”
I’m grateful to
@rule29 and
@ONeilPrinting for giving the space to make this possible, and to Brian from
@chasingwonder for creating this together. Nights like this remind me it’s not about titles or performance, it’s about presence, connection, and the kind of conversation that lingers.
