DNV Spadeadam Research and Testing is a leading independent actor within full-scale hazardous fire and blast trials and simulations of real-world environments. We turned to them for a truly challenging gas cloud explosion testing – with up to 3 bar overpressure.
𝗪𝗵𝘆? We wanted to verify how Roxtec cable and pipe penetration seals perform under extreme blast loads – far beyond the required protection
levels. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁: Roxtec seals withstood the exposure and maintained structural integrity.
The uniqueness and key contributions of this test were:
- Full-scale gas cloud explosions
- Overpressure levels above typical requirements
- Seals installed in various materials, concrete, steel and plastic
- Fully independent – tested and documented by DNV
