A green Chevy Tahoe with Louisiana temporary tags pulled into a mobile home park in the city limits of Little Rock Arkansas. A male and female began to argue & a physical assault arose. The female then jumps out of the vehicle & takes off on foot. The male driver begins popping off shots into a community with multiple families. 911 was contacted & Little Rock Communications failed once again! No one there seems to be able to figure out City/County lines which in turn leaves us waiting after the terrifying experience for over 30mins to get an officer on scene! Since…the suspect was apprehended & taken to Pulaski County Detention Center. Low & Behold he sees the Judge Jill Kamps this morning & her & the Little Rock Prosecutors Office-Which there is only 2 prosecutors whom would’ve handled this defendants case. Renee Parker or Kaitlyn Butler decided a bond of $45,000.00 was adequate for said defendant: Codero Jackson! Can we please stop bringing defendants specifics into conversation? Fact— There are so many people who have been in #KarenRead’s situation who never had the ability to fight back against the system that is in place to protect them. Some of those convicted even pled guilty, knowing they were 100% innocent. It is absolutely beyond heartbreaking and tragic! However. IMO the only things that need to be highlighted and be the topic of discussion is the broken justice system, not the differences in the defendants going through it. As humans, we always seem to go on side missions & blame each other, based on details that don’t truly matter, instead of blaming those in charge. The differences in innocent defendants is not the true issue. The ONLY issue is our broken justice system and the lack of accountability, honesty, transparency, and oversight over those in power with the responsibility of protecting. At the end of the day, the innocent defendants wouldn’t be defendants at all, if the heart of the issue was actually overhauled and solved. It’s a long journey 221 miles each way but worth every minute of the trip to see Ben. Looking forward to hearing how he is progressing with the final phase of his PhD. Lots to tell Ben today after the meeting of the APPG for Miscarriages of Justice at the House of Commons last night. Bens Barrister Mark McDonald introduced me to some very influential people who said they would like to help Mark and Ben to overturn his wrongful conviction.
