When they all moved to Florida, I was crushed. 💔🫂
One by one, they packed up and started new chapters in their lives while I stayed behind in NYC. We’ve known each other since we were kids, and over the years they’ve tried EVERYTHING to get me to move down there!!!! 😂🤣 Even offering me jobs and housing so I could be closer to them. 🥲
They visit me twice a year, but having them here last Saturday for my 40th birthday weekend meant more than they’ll ever know. 🙏🏽
They laughed and told me I was being grouchy. They said I didn’t want to do anything for the big “Four O”. The truth is, I was protecting my peace and energy. Originally, there were talks of a big birthday celebration, but I didn’t want that. As I enter this new chapter, I wanted to be surrounded by genuine people and positive energy.
They respected that.
Instead, they took me out, made me feel special, and reminded me how blessed I am to have friends like them. It’s funny because they’ve always called me the “big brother.” Four of us are the same age 🙄, and yet they still come to me for advice, guidance, and support. Three of them are married, some have built beautiful lives of their own, yet they still make me feel valued in ways I can’t explain.
So here we are at the
@1hotelbb, celebrating not just a birthday, but more than 3 decades of friendship, loyalty, memories, and love. ❤️🩹🫶🏽
At 40, I may not have all the answers, but I know this: good friends are one of life’s greatest blessings.
Here’s to friendship. Here’s to gratitude. Here’s to Chapter 40. 🥃🥂🍷🍸
