Hero Factory sold however, I can attest to Marvel and Chima I didn't see them in my area, but I know G2's issues were due to marketing failures, production issues, and a variety of other problems.
People still want them though, the aftermarket prices on almost everything Constraction is becoming insane.

Constraction started with Hero Factory in 2011. It's a system, not a subtheme (they gave it *7 years WOW)
It did not start in 2015 when they tried to piggyback off the excitement of four films that now rank in the top 50 most financially successful films ever made (& SOLO)

No, it failed because the sets sucked and most of the final waves came from failed Sequel films no one liked and in some cases no one watched. (Solo)
Oh there's more of course, the Fleshbags were to blame for the poor Star Wars Constraction sales. Look at them! They're pathetic, vile attempts to be Bionicles. Cheap imitations of perfection that are just plain ugly to look at. No one has these still built they were bought solely to be taken apart.
I don't even need to show you the ones from the line that sold. Darth Vader got _TWO_ sets, TWO. Grievous has an aftermarket price that nears seventy bucks! All of the Troopers did well too, and Boba Fett knocked it out of the park from the final wave. We just had Solo and Maul sitting in the clearance racks then.
Star Wars and it's failures killed the last bit of Bionicle and the Constraction theme. Bionicle Generation 2 had marketing issues sure, but Star Wars failing to be cool killed it in the end. Disney pushing the fleshies that no one cared about just made sales dip like no tomorrow.
If Disney hadn't bought Star Wars we would have had an amazing wave of sets. We would have probably got the Clone Wars styling too which would have done stellar with the Bionicle system of building. The hyper realistic uncanny heads sucked and we still barely see anyone use them productively.
