I tend to disagree with @LeaVerou here. It should read “…making the developer talk to the graphic designer.” #CSSSecrets
ALT Designers always wanted more control over every element in a webpage. When a graphic designer was limited CSS experience is tasked to create a website mockup, they almost always produce one with customized form elements, making the developer tasked to convert it to CSS want to pull their hair out.
