Great discussion of the future international volunteering and development at #devnet2020. A few years ago I said I was going to stop talking about volunteering but I keep coming back to these conversations and now is a good time to reassess and reflect.

@FijiApi at the great debate #DevNet2020: bringing the bitter pill #SDGs are not on track. Most people don’t know what they are. Indigenous people only mentioned 6 times! There should be a place for indigenous people & stronger targets for the existential threat of climate change

@UnderhillYvonne at the great debate #DevNet2020: The #SDGs are an opportunity. On track doesn’t mean it will be an easy ride- it’s uphill, on gravel but it is a good path. We take hopeful tracks, use qualitative data, and use it for subtle decolonial gains

Sophie Auckram at the great debate #DevNet2020: how can we be on track to meet the #SDGs when we are not on track to meet climate change obligations. “As a young person I am not hopeful for my future or for marginalised people around the world”
