Next yr, expect huge jump in deployment of AI robots in BYD production line. In Changsha & Shenzhen, 150 BYD's self developed robots already work w/ Walker S1 & L4 Unmanned Forklift to move logistics around & inspect. Already reached 3x worse efficiency.
in SZ HQ, AMRs w/ Lidar already perform 24/7 deliveries, transporting up to 2t of good per day.
Currently, BYD production line already has > 2000 different types of AI robots. Expect this # to increase to 20000 in 2026!
Once tech has been validated in strict work environment, expect expansion to hotels, hospitals & other service industries.
BYD has a huge robot development team. Maybe not everything will look like humanoid in form, but it has many AI robots like AMRs below & other types. More importantly, it has developed eMotor, eControl, batteries, chips & precision mfg needed for both EVs & robots.
I always thought its effort in developing for supply chain for EVs is 1 big step toward developing its robot army.
All the base block tech from AI robots can be found in EVs. And in terms of AI development & data collection, BYD has probably collected as much real world data now as any OEM from any industry.
Not crap you find online, but rather stuff that sensors picked up in real world. If only it had a great AI lab team, there would be a lot of RL going on right now.
Every modern automaker should also be an AI company. You collect more data than anyone else w/ your smart cars. All of which could be trained for AI usage.
BYD at this pt also has as much production line automation data as anyone else. Another huge pt in improving the performance of its own robots & that of Ubtech.
Ubtech's Walker S1 robot working side by side w/ L4 autonomous logistics vehicle in BYD Changsha factory using IMU measurement, vision module & voice navigation.
Achieving 60% human efficiency.
Ubtech has resolved many heat dissipation issues w/ Walker S1.
robotic factory worker is becoming a reality.
