Q8 2 Guess you've caught me today in reflective mood at end of year. #eweekchat
Q8. What will be the biggest surprise for tech in 2025? What’s unexpected? #eWEEKchat

Q8: Biggest surprise will be how little people recognize how thoroughly our economy/society has been transformed by tech over past 20 years. #eweekchat

A6 I'm not sure looking for biggest overall winner is correct way to think. Gen AI is a horizontal technology, akin to databases. Every app and business service will be place AI could be applied, so general upswell. #eweekchat
Q6. What tech sector/trend will be the biggest overall winner in 2025? #eWEEKchat

A5. In 2025, companies leading the way will focus on effectiveness, not just efficiency. AI won’t just cut costs—it will empower people to be more effective. This is where transformative AI will start making a real impact. #eWEEKchat

A4: I'd argue that small, edge sites are the most vulnerable and it's not clear the "defense systems" are focused there. In addition to the same vulnerability for hackers - these locations have issues with physical access, lots of people have access to the servers, etc.#eweekchat

A1. GENERATIVE AI, but more specifically, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). This technique makes it easier for developers to build GenAI apps. It ensures focused context delivery with better accuracy, does faster retrieval at scale, and it's cost-effective! #eWEEKchat

A1: Clearly AI dominated the IT world in 2024. Some of it warranted, but I wonder if IT teams have been unnecessarily distracted by this "craze"? #eweekchat

A2: Regulators face an uphill battle against AI's rapid acceleration. While policies like SB 1047 aim to prevent harm, rushing them without fully understanding the tech risks unintended consequences. Striking the right balance is crucial for progress. #eWeekChat

#Eweekchat I think efforts to govern and regulate will struggle, given the speed at which the technology is advancing and being applied.
Q2. Okay, let’s address three key sectors, starting with AI: will the forces of governance and regulation have any chance against the hockey-stick acceleration of this powerful emerging tech? #eWEEKchat

A1: The major tech trend was AI in '24. AI tools built for revenue workflows in particular were disruptive. They brought together disjointed data & buyer signals into clear, prioritized seller actions while minimizing context-switching between tools, resulting in more efficiency & better revenue outcomes. They're fundamentally changing the entire profession of revenue generation. #eWeekchat

It's got to be all about AI. But, there's an element of it being overhyped. #eweekchat

A9: Focus on metrics. Any AI tool brought in should have measurable impact and performance at all times. This way you can discern what’s truly important and what isn’t. #eweekchat

A9. Will startups today that harness AI from day-0 disrupt some of today’s market leaders and cybersecurity gorillas, who built their products a decade ago without AI? I believe so! #eWEEKchat
Q9. Final question: A last Big Thought about AI and cybersecurity—what else should managers/buyers/providers know about this emerging sector? #eWEEKchat

A7. That’s the real catch 22 question. I think that as before AI, and after AI as well, cyber defense will remain more difficult than offense. As the phrase goes - “A single drop of poison can taint the whole well #eWEEKchat
Q7. How do you sense that is AI changing the hacker community? That is, will AI ever enable companies to be fully safe from hacking? #eWEEKchat
