The ‘Baiju Bawra Samaroh’ 2026 begins today (15 March), in the historic town of Chanderi, Organised in memory of the legendary musician Baiju Bawra, the three-day festival celebrates the rich traditions of Hindustani classical music and dance.
The festival will feature performances by eminent artists from across the country.
The opening evening presents famous Bhajan gayak, Shri Anup Jalota ji and ensemble with Sufi and Bhajan singing. And a vocal recital featuring Ms. Deepika Purohit.
The programme over the following evenings includes Dhrupad, vocal music, Sitar and Sarangi recitals, Kathak group performances and a presentation of the rare Kaanch Vadya.
The Madhya Pradesh Rajya Rupankar Kala Award Ceremony will also be held on 15 March, and a Hunar Shilp Workshop-cum-Sale will be organised during the Samaroh.
