“Equitable access is something that is a global imperative of our community, is something that we do need to engage and commit to, to make sure that this big public health crisis finally comes to an end.” Francesca Celletti, MD, PhD, shares her perspective while attending the #JAMASummit on #Obesity. This year’s JAMA Summit convened thought leaders to address the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of obesity treatment. Let's make this celebration more diverse and equitable

HEARTBREAKING: A New York City school bus driver attempted to defend his bus from a WILD CROWD celebrating the New York #Knicks Finals victory. The driver was yelling at fans: “It's coming out of my paycheck…” This is horrible to watch 💔💔💔

Amaka sat with this for a day.A will signed without two witnesses is not valid under statute. But Chief Bankole was Yoruba. He died domiciled in Oyo State. And there is another track in Nigerian succession law that does not care about the Wills Act at all: Customary law. Under Yoruba customary law, the rule of inheritance is not primogeniture — not automatic inheritance by the eldest son.The estate devolves to the family as a unit. An Olori Ebi — family head — administers the estate for the benefit of all. Tunde's assumption that he was entitled to the most as firstborn was not law. It was presumption. Amaka filed in the Oyo State High Court. She brought three arguments: 1. That the written document, though defective as a formal will, constituted clear evidence of Chief Bankole's testamentary intention. 2. That Aunt Remi's testimony corroborated that intention. 3. That under customary law, equitable distribution was required regardless. Tunde's lawyer opposed on every front. The document was not a valid will — no witnesses, cannot be probated.Customary law does not override statutory formalities.Aunt Remi's testimony was self-serving family evidence. The court took three months. While the case ran, Tunde collected rent from the Agodi house tenants. Sola documented every collection. Receipts. Dates. Amounts. He sent a letter through Amaka to put Tunde on notice that he was accounting for disputed assets. Tunde stopped collecting.

The truth matters 🌾 ~ Given, the  big bucks earned by Murdoch media in Australia, is it reasonable to ask how much tax does it pays? ‘For a situation to be “fair" depends on whether it is equitable  to all parties involved.’                       “Based on Australian Taxation Office (ATO) corporate tax transparency data and analysis by corporate tax researchers, News Corp Australia (the primary Murdoch media entity in Australia) has a long history of paying little to no income tax in Australia, despite generating billions in revenue.  Key details regarding the tax paid by the Murdoch media group (News Corp Australia) include: •Zero Income Tax: Recent reports indicate that News Australia Holdings paid $0 in income tax in 2022-23 and 2023-24, despite substantial revenue. •Long-Term Trend: Analyses have frequently highlighted that the company has not paid significant corporate income tax in Australia since around 2015-16, when it paid approximately $8 million. •Decade-Long Contribution: It has been reported that the entire company paid just $8 million in tax over the decade leading up to 2020-2024. •Revenue vs. Tax: In the five years to 2018-19, News Australia Holdings generated over $13 billion in revenue but paid no corporate income tax, according to analyses of ATO data. •Subsidies and Offsets: The company has previously utilized carried-forward losses and tax deductions (such as interest deductions) to reduce its taxable income to zero.  Note on Structure: While News Corp Australia pays little to no corporate income tax, entities associated with it—such as the listed REA Group (61% owned by News Corp)—are often significant taxpayers in the media sector. Furthermore, News Corp has previously argued that its Australian operations pay other forms of tax, including payroll, fringe benefits, and GST, amounting to hundreds of millions over several years.  Disclaimer: Tax transparency data is usually reported annually by the ATO, and the most recently published data sets often lag by one or two financial years.  The hollow elephant, went down to, the waters edge, to continue meditating on its soulless search for dollars! On the other hand, we do share a common goal with Ruto. That is to get him re-elected because he believes in equitable distribution of National resources unlike previous Kikuyu presidents. He has more to offer to us than your preferred candidates

@RahulGandhi you need to create equal/equitable opportunities for both men and women so that both stand equal and create families which will be progressive to the nation. So that we do not have a repeat of the sham that is now a nation masquerading as a democracy. @RanjitOne

I seldom block trolls. However, I’ve had to block some doctors these past few weeks. Anonymous accounts to troll me will certainly flourish in the coming days. What are they afraid of? Science and medicine will always make progress. Sour grapes will always exist. Oh, well
