#CopernicusMarine Beach Series 🏖️
Here is beautiful Hogh Bay on the Isle of Coll, #Scotland 🏴, as seen by #Copernicus#Sentinel2 🇪🇺🛰️
➡️The sea surface temperature for 5 August is 14°C
I don't believe I've ever seen another person on a beach on Coll and that counts for a lot. I have been mobbed by cows and a curious seal, but that's a different issue. 🐄🦭
Some updates and an addition to the #isleofcoll routes. Some inspiration and guidance for evening walks after your boat tour with us- or on your own visit to the lovely isle.

Just finished checking all our Coll walk routes… and lucky to have a really close encounter with a male hen harrier!
Updates for every route on both Coll and Tiree (and a sneaky short new one!) will be live by the end of this weekend.

Spotted that. We very nearly joined you as a ferry-less isle. Muck was missed too, but there's a special run tacked onto tomorrow's scheduled Canna run. Meanwhile, @isleofrum and we feel very lucky. Bliadhna mhath ùr
Madainn mhath! Nabbed this from Duolingo's grammar notes for Gaelic. Hope this helps and so glad your son is feeling inspired after his Tabhaich visit! Air ar dòigh 🤩
Eilean Cholla doesn't have a ('the') before it in Gaelic, so it's 'ann an'.

All too quick that's the end of my sabbatical. Lots of cuckoo's recorded, some cuckoo's caught and one cuckoo found. From my observations cuckoo territories were ~500m which is 3 times smaller than other areas of the UK. Coll is very good for cuckoos. @RSPBScotland @ExploreColl
Another 2022 female caught last night. From my observations females are just as territorial as the males at the moment with lots of bubble and aggressive gowking calls. @ExploreColl @BTO_Scotland
Last night's catch was a female #cuckoo with some clear juvenile feathers indicating she hatched in 2022. Barely a year old and already back on her birth ground (presumably) after a winter in Africa and ready to terrorise the local mipits! @BTO_Scotland @ExploreColl
Currently on Coll carrying out a survey for cuckoos as part of my @RSPBScotland sabbatical. The survey part is almost done which means I can focus on a bit of ringing. Mad to think this bird was in West Africa a few months ago. @ExploreColl
