I wanted to say a few things about the recently published study about Kinloch Castle. Residents were surveyed and asked questions as individuals, the Isle of Rum Community Trust, as the local landowner, was not. It was included as an apparent stakeholder but ....

What an amazing day we had. So many people came to our event to celebrate 15 years of community ownership....and many were surprised at the amount we had achieved and our honesty about our challenges. Feeling blessed and still have a ceilidh yet to dance the night away!

This year marks 15, that's FIFTEEN,whole years of community ownership on Rùm. We have done a pretty good job considering all the obstacles in our way. We will be celebrating in true small Isles tradition with a ceilidh, a big stone, an exhibition in a tent and lots of stories.

It's been a 2.5 year process to attain our IDSS status. We have exciting plans afoot like a dark sky tower and all all sky camera for round the clock online viewing, but we'd rather you came in person so watch out for events planned with @cosmosplntarium
