Big springs can make us complacent. Get a CS on the ewes, feedtest pastures after hay off and make sure supplements go out just prior to maintenance decline.Discipline enables consistency. Excellent opportunity for big conceptions this year. Don’t waste it. #measuretomanage

Complacency is the killer. Big springs, and yes it wasn’t ideal but you just have to feedtest, condition score, FEC and feed / manage to get conceptions. All years vary to some degree. The bigger the DM the more complacent producers can often get. Good mgt overrides the variables

Best place in WA to get a feed test done on silage? Have used Feedtest in Werribee VIC for hay in the past, but a bit concerned about transit time to do a silage test at the moment. Could be 4-5 days in the post or more at the moment. Anyone test locally in WA?

Comes down to ME requirements and a balance - grain - silage - hay - straw can all play a part- Feedtest all your supplements and do the math

As a buyer, all comes down to feedtest. Not going to get the protein that dairy buyers are after with the oats so I'd say spray them out.

This is a 10t summer multispecies crop, dryland, in SW Vic. Quality of the crop was 13% protein and 9 ME, probably higher, as I didn't send any tubers away in the feedtest. Multispecies covers can fill the summer and early autumn feed gap, protet soil and encourage biology.
