Nope. I grew up in the U.S. when FFV wasn’t a thing here yet.

FFVI > FFIX > FFIV > FFVII > FFV > The rest for me. Almost time to fire the Super Famicom back up.

FFXV is a bad Final Fantasy game but an incredible Hanging Out With the Dudes experience FFV and XII are two of the best games purely on a gameplay level VIII is actually a masterpiece

So we talking about the being able to change jobs like in FFV, or we talking about the materia system with FFVII? Cuz I do take issue with the materia system in that regard, but I don’t think the series is ruined

XIV first, it'll make you want to play the others by referencing things from older FF games, sometimes more obviously than others, like an entire ffxii raid series or ffx dungeon, or a zone where you get ffv classes, etc. curiously searching stuff will show u game it appeared in.

FFV, FFVI, FFVIII and FFIX do everything better. FFVII is just the first PSX one. it was important as a historical pivot point but not a great final fantasy game.
