This is how you send a message. . If you’re paddling, floating, or kayaking, here’s what it’ll cost you: • 7-day permit: $6 straight through the Marine Board’s Boat Oregon Store, or $8 via ODFW (they tack on a $2 service fee). • One-year permit (good through Dec 31): $20 from Marine Board ( about $1.50 portal fee) or $22 through ODFW. • Two-year permit: $35 from Marine Board or $37 via ODFW. The state says all this money goes into two funds run by the Oregon State Marine Board: the Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Fund and the Waterway Access Fund. They’ve handed out over $4.6 million in grants for these issues since 2021. Look, we’re already taxed to death in this state, and anytime folks ask for a real independent audit of where the money actually goes, it gets ignored or slow-walked. Time to say enough is enough. If you’re out on the water a lot, plan ahead and decide if it’s worth it to you to pay or excercise your freedom. #floatforfreedom #oregon
