No, it doesn't automatically track sudden power cuts. When I first started, the goal was just to show scheduled maintenance shutdowns using TNEB's data. Since their raw data is super messy and doesn't have proper location data, I built a scraper AI geocoder to clean it up and plot it on a map. But with all the random, unannounced power cuts happening across Tamil Nadu lately, I've updated the app. Now, users can manually mark these sudden outages and instantly get the contact details for their local section's Assistant Engineer (AE) to follow up.

yes! you can do that, just search for a category in the "enter places you would go" box, it'll find ones close to where your map is centered (setting geocoder to Google Places does seem to be the best for this especially)

I got my geocoder working (technically a reverse geocoder) to query which state the user is in based on their longitude/latitude coordinates. I'm not doing anything with that info right now, but I need it for age verification and legal purposes in the future 🫠 #mandrakeapp
