Finally finished 007: First Light. Best James Bond game since Goldeneye & Everything or Nothing.
Little hiccups here and there but damn good and a perfect blend of both Hitman & Uncharted. A must own if you’re a Bond fanatic. Can’t wait for the sequel! @IOInteractive

Currently playing 007 First Light. It’s as legit as it gets. Super immersive, feels like I’m in a bond movie. Maybe my GOTY so far, but I’m still early. Point is, @IOInteractive nailed this, as expected.

What a fantastic experience 007: First Light turned out to be! #007FirstLight
I completed the main story in 19 hours of gameplay, splitting my time pretty evenly between the PlayStation 5 Pro and the PlayStation Portal.
What did I appreciate most?
First and foremost, the writing. It’s one of the best-written games in recent years. While paying homage to the cinematic Bond productions, it actually surpasses many of the actual 007 films. Outstanding!
The facial animations and lip sync are on a level I’ve seen in very few other titles this generation. Huge credit to the team for putting so much emphasis on this — especially since the dialogue is one of the game’s core strengths.
Even though the combat system eventually becomes repetitive in its mechanics, it never fully bored me. The ability to clear areas either stealthily or guns-blazing keeps every chapter fresh, enjoyable, and free of any real low points.
I wasn’t as fond of the NPCs and their lack of smarts in certain situations. Some sections felt way too easy because of how little attention they paid to guarding their areas. This is probably the one aspect I found undercooked and repetitive.
On the positive side, the way certain characters are fleshed out with strong, distinctive personalities is excellent. You even find yourself wondering what happened to some of them during the end credits.
I sincerely hope future adaptations of the franchise maintain this same high standard. If you enjoy well-written action games with a strong story, don’t miss it. And… I’m pretty sure there’s a nice little nod to Metal Gear Solid in there too!
