Maze of path options. Jest had "moduleNameMapper", then there was "tsconfig-paths", then had ts-loader for webpack, etc. Then when we went to subprojects and references it got crazy. Now we compile everything to a folder named "itsJustJavascript/" and webpack,jest,etc use that
