ALT Idea is that a junkbot prototype model 010 (since the actual junkbot has 038? on its hat) malfunctioned due to a mistake in neural networking, as a working development team stationed in the cornfields beside a remote town tried to restrict its emotions to solely happiness. This leaves it feeling incomplete, and at some point, it begins deriving joy from violence or violent acts, mainly out of curiosity of how it could spark such a strong opposing negative reaction.
