4 minutes of deaf, blind kittens navigating their tiny world purely through their sense of smell and touch!
Kittens are all sort of born prematurely, in order that queens can fit more in their bodies, ensuring a higher chance of success. So it takes around two weeks for their eyes and ears to develop, postnatally.
So here they are, Day 5, just minding their own business and basically exercising!
Their limbs are getting stronger and they are starting to hold their tails up, a sure sign legs are starting to come under their bodies and preparing to bear weight (as opposed to the sort of weak, froggy pushes they are currently managing).
They can’t see or hear yet, but those organs are rapidly developing now, ready to come online in the next few days. Not long after that they’ll start toddling, and that’s when the trouble really starts 😂
Claws will start to retract then weaning and independent toileting will follow and before long they’ll be ready to find forever families, so enjoy these few minutes of pure peace and tranquility because they grow up so quickly and chaos is coming 😹
