The device itself is fine. The hardware is unremarkable… it’s more the “platform” that helps you manage your collection on an optimized emulation multi platform.
The biggest issue is its outrageous cost… but you gotta give them a little grace. They aren’t a big company and they can’t take advantage of much volume savings and from what I understand, their delays probably cost them a lot of unbudgeted development costs and you gotta recoup that to pay your crew.
I always thought they would have a much better time making the platform purchasable and just use it as a highly tuned emulation software like Launchbox.
As far as hardware goes, there are just too many options out there, mostly FPGA that are worth considering.
At its core, the selling point is the ability to dump your own cartridges, but you don’t need this device to do that.
What I can praise is, from watching streams and such of people using it, the platform works well and seems easy to use.
