Growing up I was reading books like the last one below 👇🏽 I won’t lie I was obsessed with your James Pattersons and Steven Kings.
Your Lord of the Rings, Harry Potters and Along Came a Spiders were my thing. Although I love me some good old sci-fi and fantasy it wasn’t until I read some Chimamanda 🇳🇬 🖤 novels that I really felt seen.
Diplomatic Ties follows a girl from Mamelodi who becomes a diplomat as is stationed in Belgium. But not before she makes some suspect decisions and ends up involved in some serious international espionage shenanigans. I relate to this book because one of my buddy’s was the 3rd secretary for South Africa at our embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 🇿🇦😎 I visited her in Addis in 2021 and let me tell you I enjoyed the diplomat life. 😌
Mbali is like me and you. Navigating this big world as a Black women is something else hey. But I’d choose it in every lifetime.
Zola is also an international girl. This is a sequel to “The thing about Zola”. An industrial engineer turned events planner who’s fallen in love and stepped in the wrong toes. This one is a lot lighter and just a fun love story at heart. I went to school with the author by the way 😻 How cool is that?
