Grade 2 Engineers in the Making !
Whizzing into the world of windmills, our grade 2 innovators used Legos and their newfound knowledge of gears and pulleys to build their own mini windmills. But how do these giants work?
Wind pushes the blades, which spin a shaft connected to gears. These gears work together to increase the rotation speed, just like a bicycle.
The faster the shaft spins, the more electricity the windmill can generate.
And now, you know.

Pumpkins can be used for much more than making pies! Mrs. Yates and her first graders used their pumpkins for estimating and skip counting. Yes - there were slimy fingers, but there was also laughter and learning. #TeamAltaVista#MakerSpaceLearning#USDLearns
