Maior apreensão de droga em Moçambique: SERNIC encontra 3,7 toneladas de fentanil no Aeroporto de Maputo
O SERNIC anunciou a apreensão de cerca de 3,7 toneladas de fentanil em armazéns de uma empresa privada localizada nas instalações do Aeroporto Internacional de Maputo.
A substância, considerada altamente perigosa, terá permanecido no local desde 12 de Junho. O caso levanta fortes dúvidas sobre a segurança aeroportuária, o destino da carga e a eventual utilização de Moçambique como corredor internacional do narcotráfico.
Até ao momento, as autoridades ainda não divulgaram detenções, a identidade da empresa envolvida nem os proprietários da mercadoria apreendida.

SADC Executive Secretary H.E. Mr. Elias Magosi joined Mozambique President H.E. Daniel Francisco Chapo at the 3rd Growing Blue (Crescendo Azul) Conference in Maputo, Mozambique, held under the theme “Blue Future: Accelerating Economic Sustainability.”
The conference brought together policymakers, experts, development partners and private-sector stakeholders to explore how marine resources can drive economic growth, create jobs, strengthen food security and enhance climate resilience while protecting aquatic ecosystems.
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration and handover of the SADC Monitoring, Control and Surveillance Coordination Centre (MCSCC) in Katembe. President Chapo officially handed over the facility to the SADC Secretariat, marking an important milestone in strengthening fisheries governance, maritime surveillance and regional cooperation to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and other fisheries-related crimes across the region.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, H.E. Magosi described the MCSCC as a tangible demonstration of SADC’s commitment to turning policy into action. Constructed with US$1.8 million in World Bank support and land provided by the Government of Mozambique, the Centre will enhance information sharing, strengthen surveillance capacity and support the sustainable management of shared marine resources.
Together, the conference and the launch of the MCSCC underscored the region’s commitment to advancing sustainable ocean governance, maritime security and a thriving blue economy for future generations.
