Kaspa is decentralized because it uses proof-of-work mining, just like Bitcoin. Anyone can mine and help secure the network, so there is no central authority controlling it. The difference is that Kaspa uses a BlockDAG, which allows multiple blocks to be created at the same time instead of one after another like in Bitcoin. This makes the network much faster and more efficient. You would choose Kaspa over Bitcoin because transactions confirm much faster and the network can handle far more transactions, while still keeping the same proof-of-work security model. It offers Bitcoin-level decentralization but with much better speed and scalability.
