I 100% agree. Although it was @Firebase here so the only equivalent on @digitalocean would be a @ParseIt instance. Or maybe @supabase .

Q4 / 90-day SaaS Challenge 📫 Goal: To get the first paid customer for ParseIt AI. So far, I’ve put almost no effort into marketing. The pricing page doesn’t work, and the landing page is quite poor. There’s no Privacy Policy. Despite this, ParseIt is fully functional and ready to use. How? ✅ I’m following @NielsBl85’s advice for the landing page: x.com/NielsBl85/status/18378… ✅ I’m also going to try @johnrushx’s instructions from this thread: x.com/johnrushx/status/18383… ✅ And I’ll be following @DanKulkov’s advice here: x.com/DanKulkov/status/18380… I developed ParseIt as a side project. I didn’t validate the idea because I already use it myself for my freelance work and originally developed it for that purpose. However, my big assumption is that others would need it too. Over the next 90 days, I’ll find out if that’s true. Under this thread, I’ll share daily updates and actions taken for 90 days. ⏰⏰ For now, when you first register (one click), you’ll immediately receive 30 credits at no cost—no card details required. Link in my bio. Create your first Parser from the UI and start making API calls in seconds. If you want to integrate it into your business or workflow, DM me with your use case. I’ll give you 100 more credits 15 minutes of free consultancy for integration and brainstorming on how you can get the most out of it. December 31st will be for reality-checking and evaluation. As you’ve noticed, I didn’t mention what ParseIt is or what it does 👀 Let’s gooooooo!

How to get feedback: 1. Tweet "Join a beta test and get my SaaS for free" 2. Send 50 cold DMs to your target audience 3. Ask every user to play with a product and share 3 opinions - What do they like? - What do they hate? - What is missing? 4. Summarize problems and iterate

Got a notebook as a gift! 📝 Planning to fill it with designs for a new idea and formalize my thoughts. Maybe by the time it’s full, I’ll have a new product! A notebook for each SaaS, right? 😉 Can’t work on my ParseIt app because of time constraints, but this new idea… it might just solve that exact problem. ⏳

Hey everyone, I made a 10-minute video about my SaaS project, ParseIt. This is my first SaaS product, and it’s been a great experience learning the difference between development and marketing, haha In the video, with my broken English, I cover: -> What ParseIt does -> Use case examples -> Integrations -> Demo Balancing freelance work while developing a SaaS product is a bit exhausting. But for now, I have to keep going this way. The best way to turn this into an advantage is to start using my SaaS product in my client projects. And I already started doing that last week! 🛩️ 🎉

New SaaS ideas keep popping into my mind 💫 But I'm not starting them. Because I need to progress step by step. I'm continuing with my first SaaS product, ParseIt. Interestingly, I've found a similar product that already exists and it works well. However, it doesn't solve the pain points I'm focusing on 😉 That's where I'll concentrate. Meanwhile, advancing both Freelance & SaaS simultaneously isn't easy. I've learned that development is the easy part for me. The challenging part is marketing. So, I might try Alexander's new tool as well. Other than that, I have some great marketing methods to implement too.
Finally I launched a new product - IndieMerger 🤝 This is co-founder search platform. Find a co-founder for your SaaS. Developer Marketer = $$$ It's live on Product Hunt now 👇 producthunt.com/posts/indiem…

🤯 1 month into developing ParseIt, my first SaaS project. Gaining invaluable experience, unsure of success but committed to the journey. Every step forward is growth. Because ParseIt is a product for developers, today, I had to re-evaluate the customer profile of the product. Because I empathized and observed that if developers can do it themselves, they do it themselves. The audience I need to target should be non-technical people. I'm building a great feature for ParseIt for that. I feel like I'm overengineering a bit, but I believe it's something that will strengthen my hand in reaching people.

I designed a logo for ParseIt AI before but couldn’t make the puzzle piece look like origami. A friend redrew it for me. Which one do you think is better? left or right
Trying to give this puzzle piece an origami texture. I haven’t perfected it yet. But it’s okay for now. No need to overthink it. 🧩Designing this logo for ParseIt AI. ParseIt AI’s motto: turn text into data. Just like origami. How? An unfolded piece of paper might not seem valuable, right? But if you know the art of origami, you can turn it into something truly valuable. That’s exactly what ParseIt AI does with your texts. Turn them actionable data. It gives you a piece of your puzzle. That's where the meaning of the logo comes from. 🔮Something nice is coming if you are interested in automation!

Yeah, that's me over there. A photo from search and rescue landing training. Starting as an Indie Maker is similar to how I feel on this task. I spend hours to complete my product. I have lots of questions, and a bit of excitement... From the outside, it might look easy, but up there, it’s all about pushing your limits and facing the unknown. This is how I feel right now before launching my first SaaS product - ParseIt AI

My pros and cons joining @parseit had nothing to do with the potential/eventual acquisition. I told myself “If I join a startup, I lose 50% income. If I get a masters, I lose 150% income.” 1: product matters unless you’re a sociopath or haven’t experienced a rewarding career.

Strong agree with this article except the idea that the thing the company makes doesn't really matter. I know people for whom that's true, but for many (including myself) the product is the purpose. startupljackson.com/post/135…

This is awesome, Scott! I've been doing CrossFit with some of my colleagues at lunch. Sounds like I'd better work some more tech convo in between burpees! #CXQOTD

one memory i have: i couldn't convince the product leadership team @ParseIt to build an SSO feature for an enterprise customer, so after a workout one day i expressed frustration and @MattieuGA built it over the weekend 😅

as i think back about it -- i frequently built common ground via exercise Henele (engineer) and I ran on the Embarcadero in SF Andrew Wang (engineer) and I did pull ups at the gym (very competitive guy!) @MattieuGA/@hectorramos played basketball & used the @Meta gym together

at @Dyn & @ParseIt the engineering folks lunched together & same with S&M. they ate with those they spent the most time with. so i frequently sat with R&D, and leaned in. to speak the same language, you have to put effort into learning it.
