@PATHFoundation Silver Comet Connector starts at Atlanta Beltline on Ellsworth Industrial and goes up to The Works. The next segment yesterday got its bridge over Woodall Creek connecting a forest area beside The Works to behind the commercial buildings on Chattahoochee Avenue.

The @PATHFoundation is a legacy that will live on for decades to come. Very proud @CityofAtlanta partnered with PATH to design our first Trails Master Plan in a generation.

Howell Mill case also shows the issue of using the term “Complete Street” for the finished Collier Rd to Antone St resurfacing, traffic calming and new traffic signals but no bike lanes or sidewalk widening and for the southern segment to Huff and Brady including those elements.

Couldn’t hold on to Amir of course. And all of his initiatives pretty much reverted back as soon as he was gone. We will lose Liliana too. They grow weary of trying to get anything done against the system.

Howell Mill Complete Street will though get done at the same time as ATLDOD does the 17th St sidewalks from Howell Mill to Northside Drive which will open up pedestrian and bike access between the Beltline across Howell Mill and Atlantic Station

Classifying the Howell Mill Complete Street between Huff Rd and the CSX bridge as under construction is misleading because although the overall project has almost finished the other segments it has so far done nothing on that last segment so it will only get done post ⚽️🏆

What’s notable? Little of our bike infrastructure is delivered by the city itself.

@PATHFoundation Silver Comet Connector update says “Total completion will be mid-2027” but we were told in the Facebook group they should finish the Marietta Boulevard to The Works trail segments in Fall 2026. It is still unclear when/how they will close the “Plant Atkinson gap”

Today’s ride took us to the new section of PATH400 that recently opened from Weiuca Rd. to Loridans Dr. The section at Mountain Way NE where the path cuts under 400 and continues across a large bridge is particularly impressive.
