Yesterday I helped with fixing occasional issues with parallel runner in #PHPCSFixer, that have been there since I introduced 7️⃣7️⃣7️⃣7️⃣. This means parallel runner soon will be unmarked as experimental, and most probably will become the default runner ☺️. github.com/PHP-CS-Fixer/PHP-…

Something pretty interesting has been cooked in #PHPCSFixer 👀! If you want to help deliver the best developer experience, please test `init` command using code from master branch, and provide your feedback before upcoming release 😊. github.com/PHP-CS-Fixer/PHP-…

Huge shoutout to @PHPCSFixer team for implementing #PHP 8.5 support almost on day 1 😍🎉! It's still not released, but looks pretty complete and stable ❤️. If you're using PHP 8.5 already, you may verify it by adding `->setUnsupportedPhpVersionAllowed(true)` in your config file.

With support for custom rulesets you can now prepare your own Composer package that: - requires @PHPCSFixer - defines your rules as a ruleset Then in your projects you can require that package and have super-small config file that registers your ruleset and uses it 😍.
📢 NEW RELEASE! We're happy to announce that @gregorharlan joined our team & is doing great job - let's greet him 🥳! This release includes support for custom rulesets, feature initially proposed in 2021, revived by @_Codito_ in 2023, merged today 😁. github.com/PHP-CS-Fixer/PHP-…

Really interesting change is going to land in #PHPCSFixer in the (hopefully) near future 🥰! This not only means you will be able to use FQCNs to configure Fixer rules, but it will also unlock using 3rd party fixers like those from Easy Coding Standard, that use FQCN as name 🤩.

We have released a new version of Castor! 🦫 What's its best feature? `castor execute some-composer/package` Example with latest release of @PHPCSFixer, where we don't even need PHP to run it! 🤯🤯🤯 castor.jolicode.com/getting-…

@enunomaduro did gave credit to you guys, just didn't tag.

on laravel cloud’s codebase, the parallel option makes pint 40x faster on the first run lol. behind the scenes, pint’s using phpcsfixer’s parallel mode — huge thanks to them for making that possible! 🩷

Yeah, the whole Pint was built without giving credits (I mean official communication was like "_we_ built it", only readme had some short info that it's based on Fixer). And now the parallel runner just continues this narrative. Pity. blog.codito.dev/2022/06/lara…

😏😏😏😏 Actually, when I implemented parallel runner in @PHPCSFixer I also started work on support for Pint, but there were some issues and I discarded that. It's good to see they finally incorporated this, but any credits would be really welcome 🤷‍♂️. github.com/PHP-CS-Fixer/PHP-…

Pint can now be run in parallel mode for incredibly improved performance. 🚀

That's not why Mago is great. That's just a side effect that it's moving faster than phpcsfixer. Fixer will catch up

I saw a post about Mago (`carthage-software/mago`). I support creating tools to improve things, but it's sad to hear calls for alternatives to @PHPCSFixer just because it doesn't support PHP 8.4. The community should focus on supporting package maintenance rather than replacing packages.

Não sei se ajuda, mas aqui é o vscode tudo default com Github copilot, inteliphense, phpcsfixer pra auto formatar e phpstan De todas as linguagens que trabalho é o que me sinto mais confortável no editor

PHP-CS-fixer is an open-source gift that I appreciate and respect. I would never expect anything from the project other than doing exactly what they want, how they want, when they want. Nothing but love from me.

phpcsfixer / pint have it too. I mainly want it to just be a thing of the language though. No point in type juggling implicitly by default.
