My other tip: create a concept map. I used Inspiration software, but there are others. Let the ideas expand and wander (using a system to track resources for each idea). Then organize...organize. Then, from that, write a draft. If an outline slows you down, use a concept map.

Idea: *research like it's gossip *walk away so you don't accidentally quote *spend time comparing and contrasting perspectives *take a break *return, read it, see if it feels fluid and relevant *summarize the ideas that lead to your conclusion *finally, state your conclusion.

I don't know... Read 1000 papers around 500hs looks unrealistic. For some (good and important) papers you will need weeks to truly understand. Science is more than numbers and speed, it is about understating and insights. My advice: take your time.

Yes, if there are 1000 papers available, then pick several systematic reviews instead, plus select the most important/comprehensive studies from their References lists.

That's why one needs systematic review. No need to read 1000 papers for 500 hours. Only a few most relevant papers for a few hours and that's all.

Understand that you are trying to build a pool of knowledge/foundation to your project not just "collecting" things to quote or cite later. You want to become knowledgeable about what others have said so you can be best positioned to move your project forward.

Don’t lose sight of the goal which is to justify the need for your research. I explain it here: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…
