The limitation is that I bitbang, with help from the HSTX, MIPI CSI2 (the camera protocol, which feeds native video directly to pistorm) from the RP2350. Currently at 680MBPS, moving to 28MHz pixelclock would push that to 1.2GBPS. probably a bit out of reach for a 1,5€ MCU :)

Yes, the FPC cable carries a MIPI CSI-2 single lane signal @ 448Mbit/sec (uncompressed RGB565 at 28MHz Pixelclock). The final AGA version is probably two MIPI lanes for RGB888 at similar rates per lane
