I think it’s getting the attention bc it’s the worst incident of this kind, as far as number of kids. All and any deaths are tragic you’re right and they’re really popular in Australia. It’s awful how a tragedy like this is what will reform the use of them going forward 😞

EXACTLY! People need to be concerned with the REAL weirdos.
Now there ARE reports of people who do have ill intent, dressing as women and going into women's bathrooms. But in no way are they related to trans people.
Those people actually give us trans folk a bad name.

If your concern is with transpeople let me reassure you that transpeople arent in bathrooms to be weird but only to pee. That being said I do realize there's actual weirdos out there so you have every right to be concerned about your daughters.

It's the easiest, and sadly all too effective method, that politicians and special interests weaponize the people against each other. If enough people could ever stop hating long enough to ask WHY is it like this, an actual threat to their power would surface.

Yeah that totally makes sense! I think it was just the specific meaning in this context getting in the way.
From what I hear, "scammers" aren't nearly as common as we were led to believe, and IMHO if there *are* some scammers, OK fine, as long as folks and their kids get to eat!

Ah, that does seem to be the source of the confusion here - "take advantage of" can mean "use an opportunity," but it can also be used like "take advantage of a person" which has a different meaning and is a lot more negative. I think that caused the initial disagreement here!

Not true. In California it's on your w2 as SDI. We pay into it every check. Employer pays a portion as do all employees, except those industries that have their own fund, like teachers.
