Elon blocked some of my responses. Pass it on Elon Musk and his companies (SpaceX, Tesla, xAI, etc.) have received at least $38 billion in government contracts, loans, and tax credits, with nearly two-thirds promised in the last five years. SpaceX and Tesla account for over $15.4 billion in federal contracts over the past decade, spanning agencies like NASA and the DOD. While leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut costs, Musk has faced scrutiny for potential conflicts of interest due to his extensive business entanglements with the government.Ā  ļæ¼ Campaign Legal Center Ā  3 Key Aspects of Musk's Government Contracts and Influence: •Total Funding: A 2025 Washington Postanalysis found over $38 billion in total government support (contracts, subsidies, loans) over two decades. •Major Contracts: SpaceX holds significant contracts with NASA and the Defense Department, with over $11 billion in active, ongoing deals. •Regulatory Credits: Tesla has earned over $11.4 billion in regulatory credits from government programs, boosting its profitability. •Recent Role (DOGE): As co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk has aimed to cut federal budgets, which has raised concerns over his influence on contracting decisions that directly affect his own companies.

The NHC released its *official* report on #Hurricane #MELISSA. This incredible storm now sits at the very top of Atlantic hurricane history: * Peak intensity was bumped up to 165 knots, tying it with ALLEN 1980 for highest wind speed in Atlantic hurricane database. * Landfall intensity in #Jamaica was kept at 160 knots, tying it with Labor Day 1935 (Florida) & DORIAN 2019 (Bahamas) for strongest landfall in Atlantic basin. Penetrating this hurricane's eye & witnessing—feeling—its jaw-dropping power is something I'll never forget till the day I die. It was unlike any cyclone I've survived. I'm proud to have provided data, observations, damage surveys, & imagery to help this postanalysis.

The NHC can go either way in postanalysis, & I've seen many instances of intensity increases-- sometimes aggressive ones. MICHAEL and IAN were both upgraded to Cat 5 in postanalysis. PATRICIA was increased from 175 to a whopping 185 knots in post. They will settle on whatever value they think it really is. (Personally, I have no opinion on MELISSA's peak & landfall intensities, & I'm recusing myself form such discussions because I am so close to this storm.) No reputable scientist I know has described MELISSA's intensity as never-seen-before. In the Atlantic, a only a couple of storms had pressures as low as MELISSA's, so it was reasonable to recognize it as an extremely unusual event. Landfall intensity is important-- not to be downplayed.

I do not feel contextualization is needed, since I am not claiming MELISSA is the strongest hurricane I've been in-- I am simply saying MELISSA's are the strongest winds I have filmed. (I pick my words with great precision.) That said, I feel MELISSA was certainly stronger than DORIAN. I don't want to compare it to HIAYAN until I see the NHC's postanalysis.

Welcome to my weekend. I'm back home. My first task is documenting what happened in #Hurricane #MELISSA. That means compiling my data & reviewing my footage, clip by clip, to create an impact chronology. I'm rushing to get this to the NHC—they're already doing postanalysis, & any data from the inner core are highly valued. I'll release a preliminary report, with pressure data (which everyone's been asking about), Monday. šŸ‘Š

Already, the postanalysis report for Andrea changed the time of genesis by 24 hours. We were all saying this would happen but sure, NHC fixes. They can operationally miss the time of genesis by an entire day, but somehow being 5 kt off during a period of no recon is unimaginable?

India’s decision to neither confirm nor deny the loss of its top-end fighter jets has added credence to the downing claims. While Rafale manufacturer Dassault Aviation did not respond to FRANCE 24’s request for a comment, Reuters reported that at least one of India’s downed fighters was a Rafale. A Washington Postanalysis conducted by three ordnance experts concluded that verified images from the downing site showed the debris was ā€œconsistent with at least two French-made fighter jets flown by the Indian air force – a Rafale and a Mirage 2000".

Not sure which one you mean, but the intensities shown here (purple = Cat 5, maroon = Cat 4, red = Cat 3) are all final (postanalysis) intensities.

NHC has released the Tropical Cyclone Report on #Hurricane #BERYL. It illustrates the importance of postanalysis, as all of the landfall intensities have been *significantly* readjusted: Carriacou down to 120 knots; Mexico's Yucatan down to 80 knots; Texas up to 80 knots.

1) You can say that about any hurricane-- that "there is no proof it was not Cat 4." That is not how this works. A hurricane is not Cat 4 until proven weaker. 2) My observation was not "subjective"-- it is based on the wind data from the airport in Perry-- an official observing site, with good exposure, which was well in the eyewall of HELENE as it made landfall and, as far as I know, did not have sustained winds over 50 knots. (Peak gusts were higher-- around 86 knots.) 3) Yep, I get how postanalysis & categorization works. I am not actually arguing for a re-categorization of the storm-- my original post (see above) simply stated that estimating hurricane intensity remains complex.

Focused Communities with moderation have Value. On social media though, a peculiar interpretation can setback the motive, which forfeits the goal… or risks the exodus of users. But what if there’s no wrong answer here? Is it really Censorship… OR Curation? And could AI assist in a meaningful way? So long as there is a place for unfiltered discussions to unfold, is there anything wrong with holding space for guided, intentional conversations? These are the ideas that circle my mind in this video. Kudos to @contra for doing an amazing thing by releasing a community space for their users! Respect to Muhammad Hassan for the posture he held to encourage meaningful discussions on the platform, which prompted me to make this post. #communitybuilding #socialmedia #curation #moderation #aiformoderation #sentimentanalysis #postanalysis
