After reviewing 100s of Pitch deck One thing I can say is: The people you put on your team or advisory board could make or break you. Infact the Team slide is as important as your financial projection slide. A short story on how Qortex raised 10 million dollars: I had the opportunity of reviewing the pitch deck of Heluio They raised $10 million in their seed round Yes, I'm repeating the figure, idc🙄 Their Pitch deck had this content: ✓ Cover slide ✓ Mission statement ✓ Team slide ✓ Market size slide ✓Interstitial slide: “Focus on the media sector” ✓ Solution slide ✓ Product slide ✓ Traction slide ✓ Future plans slide ✓ Advisers slide ✓ How it works slide ✓ Entry into connected TV space slide ✓ Clients (P.S: It's not a Web3 product, just thought to share) If you're a pitch deck creator like myself or you're conversant with how a pitch deck looks You'll notice how a lot of relevant slides were missing. There’s no “ask” or “use of funds” slides, no problem statement The go-to-market strategy, and business model or pricing slide left the box. To be honest, I’m a little surprised the company managed to raise money at all with this pitch deck, But here's one thing they bomb with! —>Their Advisory board! <— They placed a huge chunk of bet there It was such a stellar arrangement! They were strategic to place the former president of ABC Television and ABC Studios, They also featured the brains behind Universal Sports Network and other seasoned startup advisers, making for a veritable brain trust. They literally said “I have access to people who have done this before and have a rolodex to connect us to the right people " And that child, is how Qortex raised 10 million dollars from funding! If you're a founder, prioritize knowing people who are known, that's the lesson here. You want people who suits industry standards and are recognized.
