Psalm 50:1-6 invites us to reflect on the majesty and power of God as the supreme judge. 🌟 In this passage, we are reminded that God is the owner of all the earth and that His presence is like a consuming fire. 🔥 It confronts us with the need for authentic and sincere worship, which goes beyond mere external rituals or sacrifices. 🙏 It encourages us to recognize our dependence on God and to approach Him with contrite and humble hearts, acknowledging His justice and grace. 💖 This passage calls us to a profound reflection on our relationship with God and the need to live a life in harmony with His commandments and His will. 🌿 #RevisedCommonLectionary

Psalm 147 resonates with an eternal message of hope and gratitude, highlighting the greatness and divine care. 🙏 In today's context, this passage encourages us to acknowledge the goodness around us and cherish unity in times of uncertainty. 🌍 Just as the psalmist celebrates the restoration of Jerusalem, we can reflect on the importance of rebuilding and strengthening our social and communal bonds. 🤝 In a world where technology often distances us, Psalm 147 inspires us to come together, valuing human connection and recognizing the loving hand that sustains both the heavenly city and our earthly lives. #RevisedCommonLectionary

The authority of Jesus goes beyond being the Son of God. It is constantly demonstrated with power in this world for all those who invoke Him. (Cf. Mt 8:28-9:1) #RevisedCommonLectionary 🌟🙏

Hearing Matthew’s Nativity story on the 4th Sunday of #Advent (#RevisedCommonLectionary Year A) seems premature. BCP has John 1.19-28, the testimony of #JohnTheBaptist which seems preferable. We’re not singing #Christmas carols yet at today’s Sunday Eucharist - or are we?

One of my biggest issues with The Episcopal Church's use of the #RevisedCommonLectionary is that we never should have adopted it without also revising the #DailyOffice lectionary.
