#RunnerProblem: Often, after a long run (did a 50 miler today), I am wide awake after 3 hours of sleep. Clearly, my endocrine system is still “on high alert” - lots of adrenaline - but, after 20 years of doing this, I’ve learned not to fret. I simply accept it, read, check Twitter (X), watch funny TV, listen to music.
Eventually, I fall back into a deep sleep, stay asleep until late (8:00!), and all is well.
Running looooong distances is weird. But, if it didn’t make me happy, I wouldn’t do it. Plus, a lot of cool stuff happens at night, apparently, that I miss when I go to bed at 8:00. 😂
