Pip is being very weird about this whole thing, even for her. In any case, I find it hard to get invested in this storyline, which is even more blatantly scriptwriting-by-charity-press-release than we're accustomed to, from #thearchers. They're all talking like human pamphlets.

#LoveHasFireworks author post on weibo: Today marks my seventeenth year writing on Jinjiang Literature City. On June 14, 2009, I cluelessly opened a column on Jinjiang and cluelessly started writing. Seventeen years have passed in a flash. I feel a bit sentimental. Taking this opportunity, let me talk about "We Live Together." In 2014, as a struggling artist in Beijing, I attended a high school reunion at the Sichuan Provincial Government restaurant. My classmates, each with their own experiences and achievements in Beijing, chatted enthusiastically. After the reunion, we settled a classmate who had traveled from out of town into the Changying Hotel. While sitting in the lobby of the Changying Hotel waiting for them to check in, my inspiration began to burst forth. Back in my rented room in Sanlihe, I opened a document and began writing the first chapter of "We Live Together." At the time, I just had inspiration, wanted to write, without thinking too much, without expecting any success, and certainly without hoping for a film or television adaptation. Because at that time, there were very few works for sale, and I didn't dare to hope for that. As I wrote, I realized the story was receiving a better response than I'd anticipated. It started appearing on the monthly charts, made it onto the homepage's top list, and I kept getting messages from friends and even several editors at Jinjiang Literature City asking for my drafts, eager to see what happened next. Having editors on the site following my story gave me a real sense of satisfaction. Later, the story won an award from the China Writers Association, was designated a key support project by the association, and appeared on the China Writers Association's Chinese Online Novel Ranking. However, because the original title, *We Live Together*, was considered too humorous, it was changed to the more sophisticated-sounding *Investment Banking Men and Women* to match the awards. This is why the novel has two names [not a simple matter]. After that, many film and television companies inquired about the rights. After the rights were sold, a long scriptwriting process ensued. This process was full of twists and turns, hardships, personnel changes, laughter, tears, and regrets. It was too difficult to describe here, so I'll omit several 800-word paragraphs. Finally, in 2023, it was finally adapted into a film. From its initial filming in 2023 to its final broadcast, the journey has been incredibly long and arduous. From 2014 to 2026, from words on a webpage to finally airing on satellite TV, from "We Live Together" to "Love Has Fireworks," it's been a truly remarkable journey. But regardless, it's finally airing! Airing is a victory in itself! The drama premieres tomorrow! Wishing it a phenomenal success! [yeah] Wishing the "very rich" couple, Li Yifei and Qian Fei, great success for everyone! 🎉 May everyone become "rich together" while watching the drama! 🎉 May all those "daydreaming" come true! 🎉 May the burning flame of love bless everyone's careers, studies, and luck, making them "soar to new heights"! 🎉 On our 17th anniversary, thank you all for your support! *bows* #TanJianci #WangChuran

This is the kind of propaganda that insults the intelligence of Nigerians and expects applause. “Anybody insulting Tinubu doesn’t know what they are doing. When America wanted to bomb Northern Nigeria, Tinubu singlehandedly stopped them. If he wasn’t President, the North could’ve been wiped out by America.” Please, who writes these things for APC? At what point did governance become Nollywood scriptwriting? A whole region of over 100 million people was allegedly about to be wiped out by America, and only one man in Aso Rock stood at the gate like action film hero and stopped the bombs with presidential hand signal? This is not political communication. This is panic wearing agbada. The same government that cannot stop bandits from terrorizing villages is now being packaged as the government that stopped America from wiping out the North. The same administration under which people are still being kidnapped, farmers are still afraid, roads are unsafe, food prices are choking families, and insecurity remains a national wound is suddenly being sold as the shield of Northern Nigeria. APC should respect Nigerians small. If Tinubu has done well, show the results. Show cheaper food. Show safer roads. Show stable electricity. Show affordable fuel. Show lower inflation. Show better jobs. Show real security improvement that citizens can feel in their homes, markets, farms and schools. But because the evidence is weak, they have entered the realm of superhero propaganda. Today, Tinubu stopped America from bombing the North. Tomorrow, they may say he held the Atlantic Ocean with one hand to prevent Lagos from sinking. Northern Nigerians are not children. They know what they are facing. They know the cost of rice, maize, beans, fertilizer, transport and cooking gas. They know which communities are still living in fear. They know which families have paid ransom. They know which schools have closed. They know which farmers cannot access their lands. You cannot use imaginary foreign bombs to distract people from real hunger at home. The North does not need fairy tales. The North needs security, economic relief, justice, jobs, farming support, stronger local intelligence and a government that treats human suffering as an emergency. Tinubu’s defenders can keep manufacturing myths, but reality is already campaigning against them. Data is brutal.

In 2006, I created ‘Till Death? A show based on people I knew, they were buddies with fascinating lives. Mnet E had a call out for tv series. I couldn’t enter as an individual I asked Big Ideas to partner. It ran as ‘Changes’. I teach scriptwriting 🫶🏾 forms.gle/ZKtWux8pRcTqaN7i6

1/ The idea came on a morning walk while listening to movie scores, no AI at this point yet. That daydream was then shaped into a proper treatment with the help of AI as I'd learned it's the first step in scriptwriting.

Director's Note EP.3📝: Special Donuts #TicketToHeavenEP3 Actually, this is another scene we particularly like because for us, it's one of the romantic scenes in the movie. That day was the last scene of the day. The actors and crew had worked hard all day, which coincidentally coincided with the situation of Barth and Tanrak in this scene, who had just returned from helping out. Sometimes, the fatigue was useful because it made the weight of the performance, tone of voice, eyes, and smiles of both more natural than we expected, becoming an inner feeling that matched the image we had envisioned since the scriptwriting. Another thing I like is the very simple conversation. Barth looks at Tanrak for a while before Tanrak asks, "What?" And Barth replied, "I haven't seen you smile in a while." And for us, the subsequent conversation might be the first time both characters began to share certain feelings, like a small marker indicating that this person's meaning is no longer the same. It was another day when we finished shooting this scene, and we told the kids, "I got a great scene to take home again today."

BARTHTANRAK HEARTS DESIRE #TicketToHeavenEP3 Director's Note EP.3 📝: The Bathroom Scene This was a highly emotionally charged scene that was already very vivid in our minds during the scriptwriting phase. Because of this, we spent a considerable amount of time designing the atmosphere. We chose the most ordinary setting—a communal shower room—as the backdrop for this event, while bringing back elements from Barth’s very first night, such as the falling rain, lightning, and flickering lights. Even though they were surrounded by people, chaos, the sound of rain, and intermittent flashes of lightning, what was happening inside the hearts of Barth and Tanrak must have been much louder. Many scenes in this series had to be adapted on-set to fit the actual location, and it just so happened that the gates and iron grates at this venue added an interesting visual dimension, beautifully reflecting the characters' emotions without needing any explanation. Seeing the completed version of this scene brings a deep sense of satisfaction, as every element gradually played its part and guided the scene exactly in the direction we wanted it to go. (The cinematography uses the physical layout of the location to perfectly mirror the emotional state of Barth and Tanrak. It creates a beautiful contradiction that makes the scene so powerful: • The Illusion of Distance: By placing the solid door and the iron grate between them, the scene visually reinforces their isolation. They are physically mere inches apart, yet entirely cut off from looking into each other's eyes. They can only rely on the raw vulnerability of their voices to sense what the other is feeling. • The Audience's Omniscience: What makes the camera angle of the last picture scene so devastating for the viewer is that we are given total clarity. We can see both of their expressions simultaneously—the internal ache, the hesitation, and the immediate emotional shift as they speak. We see the connection happening in real-time, even while they are left in the dark, feeling for each other through a barrier. • The Iron Grate as a Metaphor: Seeing one character slightly obscured through the mesh fence while the other leans helplessly against the solid wall captures that feeling of being completely exposed yet hiding behind a protective shield. Totally in love how everything is neatly planned.)
