ALT USS Vengeance The USS Vengeance was a 23rd century Federation Dreadnought-class starship operated in secret by Starfleet via Section 31. Unlike other ships owned by the Federation and operated by Starfleet, it was created specifically for combat and was completely unmarked, with no registry number or nomenclature visible on the hull. The ship was commissioned in 2259 and it was launched from the Io Facility starbase, a spacedock in orbit of the Jovian moon Io. Its first, and only, commanding officer was Admiral Alexander Marcus. As of 2263, it was by far the largest ship operated by Starfleet. The USS Vengeance was designed by Khan Noonien Singh and Section 31 for the purpose of preparing the Federation for what was deemed an inevitable war against the Klingon Empire and its other rivals.

Dodd Frank required the SEC to fund its operations almost entirely through Section 31 fees on “covered sales” of “covered securities”. These are transaction-based fees paid only by covered SROs (exchanges and @FINRA) — scaling directly with market volume — and are usually passed on to customers along the way. The statute and Rule 31 make this obligation clear: each covered SRO must pay the SEC a fee based on the aggregate dollar amount of “covered sales” on their venue (or through their members for FINRA). The @SECGov does not bill broker-dealers, clearing firms, or investors directly. That makes the upcoming “innovation exemption” for tokenized stocks especially fascinating. Per Bloomberg, a framework is coming soon for trading crypto versions of public equities on blockchain/DeFi platforms — enabling 24/7 trading and instant settlement. But how does it interact with Section 31 fees? If tokenized securities get carved out or treated more lightly (and trade outside traditional SRO venues), we could see a two-tier system: traditional stocks carry the full passed-on fees, while tokenized versions get cheaper all-in costs for the same exposure. Would liquidity and volume migrate? Crypto’s efficiency advantages could accelerate the shift — but that shrinks the SEC’s fee-paying base. Is the agency incentivizing cannibalization of its own funding? Should the SEC require tokenized securities to trade through SROs so they qualify as covered sales and continue generating Section 31 revenue? Pivotal moment. Innovation clearly wins for investors, but revenue implications might matter — Congress sets the SEC’s funding levels and could increase its funding even if the fee base erodes. Would it be smart for the SEC to bring as much tokenized volume as possible under their fee regime? Thoughts? Never in a million years did I think I would make a Star Trek video…but here we are! 😃
Many lifelong Star Trek fans like me feel alienated by the newer shows like #StarfleetAcademy, #StarTrekDiscovery, and #Section31. The shift from nuanced allegories to heavy-handed identity politics and shock value overshadows organic plots, and make the newer sequels appear lackluster when compared to the original #StarTrek, #TNG, #DS9 and #StarTrekVoyager.
True progress in Star Trek has always come from inspiring hope and unity through sci-fi, not from dividing fans. Until a new show can recapture that balance, the viewer divide is likely to persist.

Haters is the language 4 simpleminded shareholders who can`t take or stand criticism. Imo people disliking Picard are no haters, they just know the series...
Here I hoped for sth. else. Like strange new worlds or lower decks. Less section31 could have reached more old viewers.

I think VOY was a circle back to Federation=good which i loved, and I like that ENT was mostly that way as well (though did incorporate SOME Section31).
I enjoyed DS9, but I always ranked it below the others because of the black stain it put on the Federation- which was supposed to be a utopian ideal, but DS9 just made it dirty like the rest (maybe branching off of ST6 with the assassination stuff, but I always took that as a small group conspiring, not deep state).
