Real talk I only dropped out during shadowkeep cause I couldn't really keep up with the grind and I had other games I wanted to try out, and of course when I got the itch they dropped the "kill your game" expansion"

Avoid talking about political events. This is the company with all the Black at Bungie, Trans at Bungie, Retarded at Bungie bullshit Oh and doing 8 minutes of black screen before the Shadowkeep vidoc in honor of the time George Floyd was on the ground OD'ing on fentanyl

Note: I only put in like 100 hrs since launch and most of it was just until Shadowkeep. Typical chud mmo player just speeding through shit chasing higher number Never truly appreciated the depth of detail

Nah, it was shadowkeep. They never completely recovered from it. Bad choice and lie after bad choice and lie for the years that followed. WQ was OK, and TFS was cool but none of them compared to TTK, TRoI, or Forsaken. Forsaken was the peak point of the entire franchise.

Before the decline they were owned by activision. The first expansion that bungie released without oversight was shadowkeep and it was absolute aids.

Basically you still fight the first bosses in the same arena with additional encounter changes and the final boss arena is changed up and it’s super fucking sick. you fight koregos in the birthplace of the vex shown from the shadowkeep trailer

The campaigns were really a very small part of the game, and often the least interesting narrative aspects of the game. Everything else is kind of dispersed in the world itself, and you have to kind of pay attention. They rarely ever put in your face until much later. Shadowkeep is when they really started to embrace the lore. As for the game itself, if you never did a raid, if you didn't jump into the dungeons (not to be confused with strikes), they yeah... it would be very easy to put Destiny down and not think too much of it. I remember playing the Red War campaign with a friend, we finished it and were like... "Okay so... guess that's that, wanna play something else?" As dumb as the decision to remove the campaigns was, there is a reason they assumed they could do it. Because whilst it serves as a great on boarding vehicle for new players and creates a structure to the world. They're really a one time thing, people who have spent 5000 hours in Destiny probably spent less than 100 of them completing every campaign ever made, assuming they had to do them on multiple characters.

I am forever going to regret leaving my old clan I had been with since D1 that I had every stave for up to like Shadowkeep. Being clanless kinda blows too

To explain as to why it not a good game for newcomers, it because this game had sunseted a chunk of story from the main destiny 2 red war campaign quest to Forsaken and Shadowkeep quests. Not to mentioned that this game was built for those that played Destiny 1.

yeah it's a real shame that the new player experience is in the state it's in now forever. the fact that shadowkeep is in the first expansion for them to play in the light and darkness saga is criminal

I mean in that time period my apologies. What the Data shows, is that people showed up for Shadowkeep, but between SK's quality and Sunsetting, BL saw a significant decrease in returning/new players. Now you can argue SK was padded by F2P, but I'd say Forsaken was great

Okey no worries. I’m running through Shadowkeep cause I never finished the newer version, kinda just playing everything I never really got the chance to cause I got lost with what I was doing every time I’ve picked Destiny back up lol

And that struggle was brewing since like Shadowkeep The fact that these people don't realize their only chance to get anything Destiny is to stop praying for Bungie/Marathon downfall is very telling

@Destiny2Team missed opportunity for most rare of all Title, #85: Completionist Played with a lot of triumph/title chasers in Forsaken and Shadowkeep...the trials triumphs crushed a lot of PVEers hopes & dreams. GGs @Skarrow9! The time, dedication and skill required to do this is inspiring.

It really is horrible but if you just want to do the main story in order like I'm doing just follow this. - New Light (tutorial) - Shadowkeep - Moon - Beyond Light - Europa - Witch Queen - Savathun Throne World - Lightfall - Neptune - Final Shape - Pale Heart

D2, at this point was absolutely profitable. I'll talk shit about Shadowkeep because the content was bad, but it sold well. However, you'll notice, it also laid the groundwork between bad content and sunsetting for half the player base to fall off for Beyond Light.

D2 only started becoming profitable in Shadowkeep in 2019

Plus, Shattered Cycle was nearly content-complete when Destiny 2 ceased development And, The Alchemist would've given us a dungeon, meaning D3 would be the first content drop to give us a raid (SC) AND a dungeon (Alchemist) since Shadowkeep IN 2019 (!) #WeWantDestiny3
