12/Don’t be a hoarder :
⏪Everyone possesses treasured collections, which could be physical items like books, records, and movies, or intangible memories stored within us.
⏪Our minds are populated with memories of places we've been, people we've met, and experiences we've collected throughout our lives.
⏪We all carry around unique and fascinating things we've stumbled upon during our work and life.
⏪These mental collections shape our tastes, and these tastes in turn influence our work.
⏪There's a thin line between collecting (memories and experiences) and creating (work and art).
⏪Many writers view the process of reading and writing as two ends of the same spectrum; reading nourishes writing, and vice versa.
⏪Our tastes define who we are but can also overshadow our own work.
⏪Before we're ready to share our own work, we can begin by sharing our tastes in others' work.
⏪Sharing our influences is important as it gives others insights into who we are and what we do, sometimes even more so than our own work.
